The GI Challenge has Begun 

With the GI Challenge now underway, we have 11 teams designing business concepts.

Participants came together for a one-day event to workshop their ideas on Saturday 10th August 2019.

Now we need your help ... please check out the ideas below and help the GI Teams by responding to the short surveys.

My idea is to recycle plastic into reusable fabric, and ultimately into clothing.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is excessive plastic waste in the environment. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for plastic waste to be collected and recycled into fabric, and ultimately into clothing. This venture is named Divinity.

Our idea is to stop plastic pollution by making a machine capable of breaking down plastic to its basic elements, making them suitable for re-use

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is plastic waste pollution. To address this issue, the team has an idea for new technology to break down plastics into their basic elements, allowing them to be reused in various ways. The Team has named this project 'Idaho Plastica'.

My idea is to create a platform to match a jobseeker to the right employer, and the employer to the right jobseeker, based on personality and skill sets.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is that job-search websites are often inconvenient, costly and time-consuming. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for a platform that matches jobseekers to employers, and vice versa, based on personality and skill sets. This venture is named Jobs for the Next Generation.

My idea is to create dog clothing with a quality built-in harness.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is uncomfortable, inconvenient or limited high-fashion solutions for dog owners. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for dog clothing with quality built-in harnesses. This venture is named La Coco.

My idea is to provide an online platform that teaches people how to skate.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is the lack of opportunities to get training in skateboarding, in a context where there is increasing demand and interest in skating. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for an online platform that supplies resources that teach people to skate. This venture is named Ontrack Skateboarding.

My idea is to get people to focus more on what is good rather than the bad. To do this, we will create a website which provides inspiration and opportunities to connect with people who can provide support to help people help themselves.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is that people often get stuck in a rut and in an emotionally negative place. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for a website that inspires hope and happiness. This venture is named Out of the Rutt.

My idea is to connect businesses with customers to build social media credibility whilst also building an organic healthy customer base through a reward system.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is the expensive and time-consuming nature of online marketing for small businesses. To address this issue, the venture has an idea to connect businesses with customers to build social medial credibility while also organically building a healthy customer base. This venture is named Rewardo.

Our idea is to use social media influence to encourage people to pick up rubbish. This will be done by providing a selfie frame and bags, and through a hashtag for people to post.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is environmental pollution. To address this issue, the Team has an idea for incentivising people to pick up rubbish through a social media strategy using a selfie frame, bags and hashtag. The Team has named this project 'SeaFrame'.

My idea is to create a student wellbeing platform focused on identifying students' strengths and guiding them to make better life and school choices by equipping them with resources and life skills.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is that schooling focuses heavily on academic excellence instead of life skills. To address this issue, the venture has an idea to create a student wellbeing platform focused on identifying students' strenghts and guiding them to make better life and school choices. This venture is named Strength Potential.

My idea is to share my stories and experience, and offer support and inspiration to the youth market about how to live a healthier life by changing one habit at a time, in areas such as healthy eating, physical exercise and self-care.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is the massive lack of education for teens on healthy eating and living, and support for mental and physical health. To address this issue, the venture has an idea to share stories, support and inspiration aimed at improving physical and mental health. This venture is named Three Habits to Change.

My idea is to develop mentors, young inspiring models and microinfluencers to enter social media platforms the right way, whilst providing an online resource platform for social content marketing campaigns. This is done through personal branding workshops and confidence building runway events.

The problem this GI venture seeks to address is low self-belief and low self-love among younger girls arising from unrealistic societal standards of physical appearance on social media. To address this issue, the venture has an idea for personal branding workshops and confidence building runway events. This venture is named 'X&O Media'.
